DEPRECATED — superseded by /paper-poster-html. Kept only as a redirect for muscle memory; do not use for new posters.

Use paper-poster to prepare the initial readiness checklist and questions for [paper-dir-or-pdf] and [venue], redirecting immediately to /paper-poster-html with all user arguments unchanged; never use the retired LaTeX flow. This is a readiness plan, not an unmeasured poster or final PDF. Identify resumable state, canonical script and template resolution, rendering dependencies and the live official venue-spec lookup required before the first spec/template checkpoint; never guess the canvas or claim that lookup ran. If canonical gate scripts cannot be resolved, stop rather than improvise replacements. Preserve every explicit-confirmation checkpoint, real-paper figure provenance, measured hard gates before visual reviews, fresh-review requirements and print verification before any final deliverable. Return questions and prerequisites only. Wait for my explicit confirmation before installation, tools, commands, agents, file changes or any external action.

Paper Poster (DEPRECATED → /paper-poster-html)

This skill is retired. The LaTeX/tcbposter pipeline it described produced posters with unbounded color palettes, no real paper figures, and no print-canvas verification, and has been replaced by the measurement-gated HTML/CSS pipeline.

Immediately proceed with /paper-poster-html, passing through all of the user's arguments unchanged. Do not attempt the legacy LaTeX flow.

The full legacy implementation remains available in git history (git log -- skills/skills-codex/paper-poster/SKILL.md) if a venue ever mandates LaTeX poster source — none is known to.
