Traction scoreGitHub stars can be faked, so popularity alone can be misleading. Traction Score looks for broader signs of recent attention, adoption, and active maintenance.
TL;DR

Teardown enables technical educators and designers to build interactive 3D lessons of machinery, such as engines or gearboxes. It converts complex mechanisms into single-page offline HTML simulators featuring exploded views, cutaways, and subsystem controls.

The tool allows users to create guided tours of a machine's operation, which can then be recorded as high-frame-rate video with synced procedural scores to demonstrate how a mechanism works visually rather than descriptively.

WHO IT'S FOR

Compatible AgentsThe repository documents support for these agents. The skills may also work with other agents that can load SKILL.md files, but they may need some setup or small changes.

Use this skill

Follow the documented setup, then try a first task.

Claude Code global installation

Installs: Global installation of the teardown skill and its simulator kit and examples. · claude-code

Before you start
  • Node.js 20 or newer.
  • For video recording: ffmpeg available on PATH.
  • For sound generation: Python 3.

Run from: Run dependency setup in the installed teardown folder.

  1. Run this command in a terminal to install teardown globally for Claude Code.

    npx skills add elvarofficial/teardown -g -a claude-code
  2. In a terminal, change to the installed teardown folder, then run this one-time dependency setup.

npm install && npx playwright install chromium

Give it something to do.

Suggested first task

Build the included V8 simulator

Uses teardown

  • Complete the installation and first-run dependency setup.
  • Use the included v8-live example; no custom machine files are required.
Use the teardown skill to build the included v8-live example as one offline HTML page. Tell me where to open the result and how to explore its cutaway modes, cylinder picker, and live charts.
