Description
This skill estimates the replacement cost of a codebase as if built by a traditional human team — not market value, but the cost to recreate it from existing specs. It cross-checks four independent methods (bottom-up, COCOMO II, Function Points, LOCOMO) and produces P10/P50/P90 ranges, overhead multipliers, market-rate research, and a Claude ROI calculation. It helps engineering managers justify rebuild budgets, M&A analysts value software assets during due diligence, and procurement teams measure the return on AI coding tools.
