Traction scoreGitHub stars can be faked, so popularity alone can be misleading. Traction Score looks for broader signs of recent attention, adoption, and active maintenance.
TL;DR

This skill assists equity analysts and traders in parsing company performance by reading XBRL facts from 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and earnings press releases. It structures raw SEC data into comparable quarterly and trailing twelve-month views of revenue, margins, and diluted EPS.

By automating the retrieval of reported numbers, it clarifies how a company's current financial standing compares to the same quarter from the previous year and can synthesize key takeaways from earnings call transcripts.

Suggested first task

Get a short stock news brief

Uses trader-news

  • TSLA is an example ticker; replace it with the stock you want to check.
  • Python 3.8 or newer for the tool.
  • For SEC filings, set sec_user_agent in trader/config.json or SEC_USER_AGENT to your real name and email; without it, filings are skipped.
Use trader-news to check TSLA for new headlines and 8-K filings from the past 12 hours. Read the important sources and give me a short brief with links, tags, and the price move versus yesterday's close. If SEC identification is missing, say that filings were skipped. Report published facts without predicting the next move.

Summarize one company's latest earnings

Uses trader-analyst

  • TSLA is an example ticker; replace it with the company you want to analyze.
  • Python 3.8 or newer for the tool.
  • Set sec_user_agent in trader/config.json or SEC_USER_AGENT to your real name and email before fetching SEC data.
Use trader-analyst to summarize TSLA's latest reported quarter. Compare revenue and diluted EPS with the same quarter a year earlier, explain margins, and flag one-offs, derived figures, or stale SEC facts. Read the latest earnings release for context and include source links. Keep the summary brief.

Check an opening-range breakout

Uses trader-entry

  • TSLA is an example ticker; replace it with the stock you want to check.
  • Python 3.8 or newer for the tool.
  • Access to Yahoo chart data for the current-session check.
Use trader-entry for a single check of TSLA with the default 15-minute opening range and 5-minute bars. Tell me whether it is waiting, triggered, expired, or not open yet. Count only completed bars; if triggered, report the time and price. Note that Yahoo data is unofficial and can lag.
